Guide Dogs for the Blind

"Harleen" or "Harri" as she is known by her friends, is a beautiful German Shepherd Dog. She is so very devoted to her two masters. A Mom and her daughter co-raised Harleen to be a Guide for Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael. They were very disapointed when she was eventually dropped from the program before she was even a year old. She was dropped for alert barking (at everything). She is not a fearfull dog, just a suspicious one.

Delta, READ, VNA

Her owners continued her training and Harleen is now a certified Delta Dog, a READ Dog, and a VNA Dog. She still alert barks but not so much as to prevent her from doing her job. She loves to visit with her friends at the Assisted Living facility where she is a favorite for simply being a big beautiful shepherd. She is also a favorite with the children at the library and schools. Some of the children are intimidated by her size, but are drawn to her because she so eagerly greets them. Harleen is so very loved and has blessed so many.
